In this program we look at resin - a plastic that can be put to the most creative and artistic of uses. We provide a brief overview of the history of plastics: natural plastics, the first man-made plastic, the plastic 'revolution' of the 1960s and recycling and waste issues. Then we look at two designers: Rebekah Webster and Viliama Grakalic who work with resin. They showcase their work, discuss the properties of resin and why they like working with it. We also consider health and safety issues when working with resin and discuss processes, materials and equipment.
