Felt is currently experiencing renewed interest, as consumers grow weary of factory-made products. This program provides an understanding of the traditional uses of felt and how designers are now using felt in contemporary work. We meet a maker of felt products, who discusses why they use felt. Wool properties are also examined and the felting process is demonstrated. We also show how the properties of felt influence - yet also limit - the design of the finished product. In addition to the beautifully filmed program, the DVD features extra footage of the artist showing and describing 3 of her felt creations. This program is a fascinating insight into this often overlooked fabric.
