In 4REAL Vancouver, host Sol Guy brings actress Eva Mendes to his hometown to connect with community advocate Liz Evans and her organization, the Portland Hotel Society (PHS). Liz and her staff are on the frontlines of lending dignity and stability to the lives of the people living in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, a neighbourhood rife with homelessness, addiction and disease. By spending time with individuals at PHS, both Eva and Sol begin to understand and develop compassion for the people living in what is known as Canada's "poorest postal code." Includes Educational Guide. Themes explored in Guide: Substance Misuse, Stereotypes, Homelessness, Poverty and Active Citizenship.
