This concluding part of "Building a House" focuses on the construction and finishing of the interior of a wood-frame house. Students will see the installation of plumbing and drainage pipe throughout the house. Hot water radiant floor heating is installed, then the electricians string cable and install fixtures. Glass fibre insulation comes next, then drywalling and paint. A variety of floors are installed: marble tile, pre-finished hardwood, and carpeting. One segment is devoted to final carpentry and includes installation of kitchen cabinets and the hanging of doors. The program ends with the family moving in. Appropriate for Technology/Carpentry courses and offers a view of the great variety of skilled tradesmen involved.
